Shadow a Dolphin Trainer for a Day at Dolphin Cove! This program combines dolphin interactions with a behind the scenes look into marine mammal care and training. Please join us for this unique and exciting educational opportunity!

Dolphin Cove’s Trainer for a Day program is an all-inclusive, once in a lifetime experience. Reserve your space promptly to receive the discounted price of $670.00 for a full day of one-on-one interaction with the trainers and animals at Dolphin Cove. Act quickly, because space is limited! Participants must be a minimum of 12 years of age.

What to expect throughout your day:
Please note that your day may vary according to the animals training and feed schedule.

• Check in at 8:30 A.M.
• Receive your Dolphin Cove T-Shirt to wear for the day.
• Participate in a Structured swim with the dolphins
• Educational Videos Narrated by Dolphin Trainer, and or Discussion: Marine Mammal Enrichment, Workshop: Dolphin Anatomy and Identification
• Review with your trainer, training principles and terminology: Behavior, Criteria, SD, Bridge, Positive Reinforcement, LRS, Shaping a behavior, etc.
• Lunch Break from 12:30 – 1:45 P.M.(Food not provided) Parents must pick up their children for lunch. We provide drinking water throughout the day, but participants should bring any snacks they will want.
• Dolphin Kitchen Experience: Managing the dolphins’ diet, Fish Pull, Fish Prep, Making the dolphins’ buckets, Vitamins/Medications.
• Shallow Water Encounter with the dolphins
• Sanitary practices of cleaning buckets and cleaning the fish kitchen
• Participate in a private swim with a trainer or multiple trainers. No public swimmers will be included in this program.
• Receive a book concerning Starting Your Career As A Marine Mammal Trainer.
• View photos taken of you throughout the day. Select the 5x7 print. Purchase any additional photos.
  
• End of Day 3:30 P.M. Parents should arrive to pick up at this time. Wrap up and questions for the trainer.
  

What to bring with you:

• Towels, bathing suits sun block and bring extra change of clothes, hat and shoes, that you don’t mind getting fishy.
• Drinking water is provided throughout the day, but you may want to bring a beverage.  Soda machines are on property. Make plans for lunch.
• You may bring snorkel gear, however, it is provided.
• Educational Videos Narrated by Dolphin Trainer, and or Discussion: Marine Mammal Enrichment, Workshop: Dolphin Anatomy and Identification
• A disposable waterproof camera (available in our gift shop) can be used during the Natural Swim and throughout the day.
